Mother/Daughter Monday – Aria Argan Gold hair products

Last week, Mum mentioned Aria Argan Gold Shampoo as one of her five items that she can't live without. We have both been using it for a while and thought it was the perfect time to review it for Mother/Daughter Monday.

Sue says:

I've been having my fine, prone-to-frizz hair done by Nico at Luppino's in Brisbane City for 10 years now.  This is the flagship of their three Brisbane salons, and the third generation of the Luppino family is now in charge.

Last year Nico advised me that Luppinos was bringing out its own brand of Morrocan oil hair care products just in time for Christmas.  The Aria Argan Gold pack of shampoo, conditioner and oil was ready for present buying at my December cut and colour visit, and so I got one for me and one for Katherine for our Fine-Normal hair.

The product is beautiful.  Brisbane's summer humidity plays havoc with my look, but the moisturising nature of the shampoo and conditioner kept the frizz in check, and meant I don't't worry so much about how often I was straightening it.   In addition, my fears of using an oil-based product – meaning I would have to wash more often – were unfounded.  I actually find I can stretch out my hair cleansing another day if I haven't done too much exercising, been swimming, or gone crazy with styling products.

If you like researching products, there's plenty of information at www.ariaargangold.com.au.  Their products contain no sodium chloride, parabens, sulphate, silicone, nor protein and are not tested on animals, therefore I know I'll be using them for a long time to come.  And now that winter is on the way and the humidity has dropped, the beautiful moisturising nature of this product will get me through the dry and cold months as well as the hot, humid ones.

I also love the oil.  I put it onto dry hair, finding that it distributes better, and keeps fly-aways at bay.  But I also have to admit to rubbing it into dry legs and arms as well.

If you can't get to Luppinos in Brisbane, you can buy online at www.luppinos.com.au and Groupon sometimes do a deal (there's actually one on at the moment, FYI, click here to see it).

Katherine says:

When Mum bought me the Aria Argan Gold pack for Christmas, I have to be honest, I was going through a phase of not washing my hair more than once a week. It may sound a bit gross, but I read a lot towards the end of last year about how the shampoos and conditioners on the market are designed so that the more frequently you wash your hair, the more often you have to.

My hair (especially when it's straightened) makes fine-haired people look like they have thick, luscious locks. My biggest problem has been that almost every product I use makes my hair greasy even just after washing it.  Once the evil (and brilliant) GHD gets onto it, my seemingly clean hair reveals itself as stringy and oily, as though I haven't washed it at all or I've forgotten how to properly wash out my conditioner!

Since I started exercising more, I have had to revert back to a more regular washing cycle than once a week and since then I have been using the Aria Argan Gold products instead of a $2 shampoo from the supermarket. Not once, in the past month or two, have i found my hair in the greasy state that almost every other brand (expenisve and supermarket cheap) has left my hair in. I purchased Moroccan Oil when the big fad hit a year or so ago, and even at a bargain price, it was still a bit of a hair product investment. As Mum mentioned, the pack has a shampoo, conditioner, and the oil in it and is a fraction of the cost of the Moroccan Oil products (but just as good, in my honest opinion!)

With the KMS Mostrepair that I reviewed last week, and the Aria Argan Gold shampoo and conditioner, my hair is in the best condition it has been in a long time (even if I haven't yet found a hairdresser in Sydney and am long overdue for a cut!)
